Beaucoup plus chanceux à Los Angeles, puisque j'ai la chance de tomber sur un concert de reformation des mythiques Adolescents, un des 6 meilleurs groupe de LA (avec Black Flag, Fear, TSOL, Descendents & Circle Jerks !) !Trop heureux à l'idée d'entendre "No Way" ou "Amoeba", puisqu'ils avaient splittés 4 ans plus tôt !Après une journée à Disneyland, je fonce vers Long Beach au Fender's Ballroom.Anti ouvre le bal : sous-Social Distortion qui remplace Mad Parade (dommage !) et se fait vite jeter ! Ensuite, un groupe dont je ne saisis pas la "finesse" sur le moment : les cultissimes Mentors et leur rape-rock, orchestré par El Duce, batteur (?)- chanteur (?!?) échappé d'un roman de Bukowski.C'est archi-nul, pathétique, mais drôle : ils ont l'air vraiment ridicules avec leurs gros bides et leurs cagoules !
Ensuite, Wasted Youth : leur 1er LP "Reagan's In" est un putain de classique, sorti en 81.Là ils ont un nouveau line-up,il n'y a que le guitariste rescapé du 1 er LP,mais ça envoie bien le bois !
ENFIN : les Adolescents prennent la scène d'assaut et expédient tous les hits de leur 1er et gigantesque LP !4 membres originaux sur 5, ne manque que Frank Agnew, remplacé par le petit frère Alfie, bien guidé par le grand frère Rikk !Putain, ça fout la larme à l'oeil tellement c'est bon !Tony,le chanteur,est une bombe sur scène.Les 600 fous présents se déchainent, un mec du gang des Suicidal Tendencies fout le bordel à lui tout seul, baston avec les skins,etc...!Putain de grand souvenir !

Anti opens the show: poor Social Distortion-like band replacing the great Mad Parade (too bad !), they get booed !Then comes a band that escape my senses then: the cult ,rape-rock band the Mentors,leaded by drummer (?)-singer(?!?) El Duce, looking loke he's a character out of a Bukowski book !They 're pathetic & suck big time,but they're fun :looking totally ridiculous w/ their fat bellies & hoods !Next come Wasted Youth: their 1st from 81,"Reagan' In" is a fucking classic.They have a nexw line-up,w/ the guitar player being the only guy left from the 1st LP,but they sure kick ass !
FINALLY : the Adolescents get onstage to play all the hits from their 1st gigantic LP ! 4 original members out of 5,only Frank Agnew is missing,replaced by lil' bro Alfie, well helped by big bro' Rikk !Fuck, so good tears are almost there !Tony,the singer,is a timebomb onstage.The 600 crazy ones are going nuts,some guy from the Suicidal Tendencies' gang is messing up the show by himself,some fights w/ the skinheads...!Fucking great souvenir !
