Warzone/DRI/Exploited

Putain,le jour où j'aurais dû être dans le train pour l'armée, je suis dans l'avion pour les US ! Et 2 jours après mon arrivée à NYC, je tombe sur ce concert que je m'empresse d'aller voir pour DRI, groupe 2 fois précurseur : 1 single des 22 titres (!) les plus rapides du monde en 83, et un LP,"Crossover", tout juste sorti, un des premiers à mélanger le Hardcore et le Metal !
School of Violence ouvre le show, NY hardcore sans grand intérêt, puis Warzone, groupe composé de figures mythiques de la scène Skinhead HC de NY et devenu depuis culte on se demande bien comment,tellement ce groupe est cliché et sa musique insipide !Je rammènerais d'ailleurs leur 1er single, que je revendrais qq années plus tard à un pote près de 10 fois son prix,quel salaud !
ENFIN, DRI s'approprie la scène, et là,misère!C'est l'émeute, ça slamme,stagedive à tout va, le groupe explose tout et enchaine les morceaux de 30",c'est le chaos total !Les 2 ecrans géants sur les cotés retransmettent le concert,c'est vraiment une autre planète !
Le Ritz et ses 2000 hardcoreux de tous poils est en feu !Je conseille à tout le monde l'achat de la vidéo (DVD maintenant) de ce concert énorme !
Que peut faire Exploited après ça,à part exhiber ses crêtes roses (on retrouvera celle du guitariste au club madame Wong de LA qq semaines plus tard,le mec était sous acid ce soir-là !) ? En tous cas,moi je reste au bar, je les ai déjà vus à Londres en 81,ça a très mal vieilli !
En plus leur public de bourrins...2 skins éclatent un pauvre métalleux qui n'a rien demandé !Pitoyable !Pour oublier ça,je finis dans un club où bosse un pote, Joey Ramone est là, entrain de boire son canon tranquille !Lyon est très loin !

School of Violence opens the show,generic NY HC, then comes Warzone, local cult band w/ popular faces from the rising NYHC Skinhead scene, but very poor & generic musically to me !I'll bring back their just-released 1st 7", which I'll sell back to a friend years later for 10 times the initial price,what bastard am I !
ABOUT TIME: DRI get onstage for fuck's sake !the show turns into a giant riot,lots of slam,stagediving,the band is a real live , in-your-face explosion,playing their 30'' songs one after the other,it's total chaos!The 2 giant screens on the side replays the show,I'm on another planet !
The Ritz & its 2000 HC kids are on fire !Everyone should get a copy (released on VHS & DVD) of this awesome show !
What could possibly do the poor Exploited after that,except showing us some pink mohawks (we'll meet the guitar player at madam Wong, a club in LA, a few weeks later,the poor guy was bad trippin'on acid,funny !) ?I'm standing at the bar as i've seen these guys before in London,summer81,their music now sounds terribly old & dated compared to DRI !
And talk about an audience of thugs...2 skins are kicking some poor metalhead's ass for no reason !How dumb !
To clean my head,I'm ending the night at some club where a friend is working,Joey Ramone's there,having a few drinks& relaxing !Lyon is so far away !
